What should I wear (I'm a girl person)?
There is no simple answer to this question. There will be a rather wide variety of dress at this event.
You may have noticed (if you were paying close attention), the term "Black Tie Forbidden" on your invitation.
Noah and Yaron would like to encourage everyone to dress warmly and comfortably so that you will feel like dancing
throughout most of the evening. Layers are key! Some women will be in gowns or dresses, others will be in skirts, blouses, even pants.
Wear what you want... we want you to have fun!
What should I wear (I'm a boy person)?
Let's start with what not to wear. You will be hard pressed to find any tuxedoes at this event. You may have
noticed (if you were paying close attention), the term "Black Tie Forbidden" on your invitation.
Noah and Yaron would like to encourage everyone to dress warmly and comfortably so that you will feel like dancing thorughout most of the evening.
Some men will be dressed in suits, most will likely be wearing slacks, a nice shirt, and a sport coat. Wear a tie if you want to.
Bottom line: Wear what you want... we want you to have fun!
Will the wedding be very religious?
No. Both the bride and groom's families are Israeli and as such, much of the wedding will be
influenced by Israeli/Jewish traditions. Noah and Yaron will be married by Rabbi Gershon Johnson, a Jewish Conservative Rabbi.
There will be many traditional aspects to the ceremony, but you are not likely to see Yaron pulling Noah to the dance
floor with a napkin.
Will the food be Kosher?
Yes! Sason Catering will be responsible for your culinary enjoyment!
They are a Glatt Kosher caterer and assure us that no one will go home hungry. If you keep strictly Kosher, please
be aware that there may be some dairy desserts that you might not be able to enjoy with the rest of us.
Why May 1st?
The first time Yaron and Noah ever spoke on the telephone, they discovered that they were only 11 days apart in age!
Yaron was born April 26th, 1974 making him 30 years and 5 days old at the time of the wedding. Noah was born on May 7, 1974
making her 29 years young at the time of the wedding! For good measure, Yaron's grandmother (who will be attending the event following
a long journey from Tel-Aviv, Israel) will be turning, uh... 30 as well, the same evening. Noah and Yaron decided to invite you all to
enjoy this special day with them, as they just couldn't see having to throw a "60th" birthday party for themselves.
How do I know if I'm invited?
C'mon, did you realy find this address through google? If you received a silver
pipe-bomb* looking invitation in your mailbox sometime in March, you were probably invited!
* It has been brought to our attention that at least one invited guest, actually had our invitation "destroyed" by
security as a preventative measure. If this was you, please e-mail us.
Must I nap the afternoon before the wedding?
Yes. The Rabbi refuses to officiate the marriage ceremony until sunset (the official end of the Jewish sabbath). As such,
we will not get to start dancing until after you have likely tucked in your young children. We expect to continue dancing well into the
next morning. A nap is highly recommended.
What is this 'Yichud' thing we keep hearing about?
Noah and Yaron seem to differ somewhat on what needs to be done during the time of the Yichud. The "Yichud" is, by
Jewish tradition, a short time directly following the marriage ceremony where the bride and groom are supposed to get
to know each other privately (for the first time) as husband and wife. Noah seems to believe that this time should be used
to catch a much needed bite to eat... Yaron seems to think differently.
(Noah doesn't think Yaron realizes how
complicated her dress is.)
(Yaron always loves a challenge.)
Will Noah & Yaron be available again for social calls anytime soon?
To all of you whom we've neglected, ignored, angered, or otherwise disdained over the past many months... we hope you will forgive us.
For everyone else, we invite you to please log any complaints in our guestbook. We hope to see all of you at a
more personal level again soon, and we hope you agree that this evening has been well worth the wait!
Will Noah be spanking anyone on the dance floor?
Most Definitely.
